The care you deserve.

 FAQs

  • No. Dr. Jukaku is out of network for ALL insurance companies. Some insurance companies, especially PPOs, may provide you with some reimbursement for care received if you print and provide an itemized receipt (“super bill”) from your patient portal and complete any necessary paperwork. Insurance can often constrain the kind of care a physician can provide. Working as an out-of-network provider allows Dr. Jukaku to spend more time with you and provide a more thorough evaluation and assessment with more personalized treatment. This also means she can offer more frequent visits when required, allowing the patient and doctor to determine an appropriate level of care. Furthermore, keeping insurance companies out of the equation will protect your confidentiality. Keep in mind, however, that many patients do not need frequent visits reducing their costs substantially. Lastly, the vast majority of prescription medications recommended are covered by most insurance companies (and even if you don’t have or don’t want to use insurance for medications, we can find affordable options for you).

  • Fees are determined based on the type and length of appointments. Please schedule a free phone consultation to learn more. At this time I do not offer a sliding scale.

  • You can cancel up to 48 hours before your appointment. No-shows and late cancellations will be charged the full fee (including for new patient evaluations). The credit card on file will be charged on the morning of the appointment.

  • Telepsychiatry visits are fully private as there is no interaction with other patients in a physical office. For in-person visits, I intentionally schedule appointments so that there is a suitable buffer between patients to maximize privacy. Per legal and ethical requirements, Dr. Jukaku will never communicate with anyone about your care unless you have signed a written release asking her to do so. Upon request, if you would like me to keep process notes separately than progress notes I can do so (if you attend to apply for reimbursement with your insurance company).
